At Bad Apple, we're here to help with a wide variety of iPad repair services, including many related specifically to screens and screen issues. What are some other troubleshooting remedies you might look into for a flickering screen on your iPad, and when might it be time to bring it in to our repair professionals for some help? Here's a basic rundown.

Reboot (Hard Reset) the Device

If the suggestions we made in part one, which included turning off auto-brightness, force quitting applications and limiting motion and transparency settings, don't solve the issue, another simple troubleshooting technique to try is a hard reset of the device.

To do this, press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. Continue holding these buttons until you see the Apple logo appear onscreen; then release. After the iPad has restarted, check to see if the flickering issue has been resolved.

If you're using a newer model of iPad that does not have a home button, you will instead use the Volume Up and down buttons. First press and release the Volume Up button, then the Volume Down button. Finally, press on the top button until you see the Apple logo, then release.

Update Your Software

If you're still having trouble with a flickering screen, the next step is to check and see if there are any updates available for your iOS software. To do this, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If an update is available, follow the prompts to install it.

Repair or Replace the Display

Finally, one possible remedy that will often require the assistance of an iPad repair specialist is to simply replace the display. In some cases, a flickering screen can be caused by damage or wear and tear to the display itself, which will necessitate a replacement.
